74HC85N DIP IC – Corrected Product Description

The 74HC85N is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS 4-bit magnitude comparator that is pin-compatible with low-power Schottky TTL (LSTTL). It is specified in compliance with JEDEC Standard No. 7A.

The 74HC85 compares two 4-bit binary, BCD, or other monotonic codes and provides three possible magnitude results at the outputs: QA>B, QA=B, and QA<B. The device can be cascaded to compare words greater than 4 bits by connecting the outputs QA>B, QA=B, and QA<B to the corresponding inputs of the next significant comparator.
